Dell Realize | The Value of a Voice

In 2021, I was tapped to contribute to Dell Technologies' Realize magazine, an annual publication that explores innovation and trends in the technology space.

My piece was about the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association's work developing a unique method of voice banking for people with MND, that helps them and their loved ones contend with the realities of their diagnosis.

“‘Everything is changing.’ These are the gripping first words of “I Will Always Be Me,” an online, digital picture book about individuals living with motor neuron disease, the most commonly known type of which is ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. The book is told from the perspective of a person whose life is in flux, changed in an instant by a diagnosis.

According to the MND Association, adults have a 1 in 300 chance of being diagnosed with MND, and more than half of patients die within two years of diagnosis. The cause of MND is unknown and there is no cure.”
